Sky & Freesat

Sky & Freesat Satellite Services

Pegasus Aerials provides Sky and Freesat satellite dish installation, repair and maintenance across Ormskirk, West Lancashire, Sefton and surrounding areas.
Whether you’ve lost your satellite signal, need a replacement dish or LNB, are moving home, or want a new Freesat installation, I can test the system, identify the fault and recommend the most suitable solution.
I also remove redundant satellite dishes and, where possible, can position new dishes discreetly to minimise their appearance on your property.

Satellite Dish Installation

I install satellite dishes for Freesat and existing Sky satellite systems, using quality equipment and positioning the dish for reliable reception

while keeping the installation as neat and discreet as possible.
Whether you’re moving home, replacing an old or damaged dish, or need a new Freesat installation, I’ll check the available satellite signal and select a suitable mounting position. Where line of sight allows, I’ll always consider a less prominent position, such as a side or rear wall, to minimise the appearance of the dish on your property.

The dish will then be professionally installed and aligned for reliable reception. New cabling can also be installed where required, with cables routed as neatly as possible to the required TV or satellite receiver location.

Freesat Installation

Freesat provides a wide range of subscription-free TV and radio channels through a satellite dish, with no monthly TV subscription.
I can install a new Freesat-compatible satellite dish and cabling, or check whether an existing Sky dish and cabling can be reused for Freesat.
If you already have a suitable dish, there may be no need to replace it. I can check the existing installation and make any changes required to get your Freesat equipment working correctly.

Discreet Sky Q & Mini Box Mounting

If your TV is wall mounted, I can also mount your Sky Q or Sky Q Mini box discreetly behind the television using a purpose-made bracket.

Once the TV is in position, the box is hidden from view, along with the associated cabling, giving the installation a clean and uncluttered appearance without the need for a separate shelf or TV unit.

This can be included as part of a new installation or added to an existing Sky Q or Sky Q Mini setup with a wall-mounted TV.

Freesat or Freeview, which is which?

Freeview and Freesat both provide subscription-free television, but they receive their channels in different ways. Freeview uses a TV aerial to receive terrestrial television signals, while Freesat receives its channels via a satellite dish.

For homes with good terrestrial reception, Freeview is often the simplest option, particularly where TV is required in several rooms. In areas where Freeview reception is poor or unreliable, Freesat can provide an excellent alternative. Freeview Play is catch up TV which requires an internet connection.

Freesat requires a compatible Freesat TV (available on selected LG and Panasonic models) or a separate Freesat receiver at each viewing point, with suitable satellite cabling back to the dish or distribution equipment. Freeview can usually be distributed more simply to several televisions from a single aerial system.

Not sure which is best for your property? I can check the available signals and advise whether Freeview, Freesat or a combination of both would be the most suitable solution.

SKY & FREESAT REPAIRS & SIGNAL PROBLEMS

If you’re experiencing loss of signal, picture break-up or intermittent reception, I can test your satellite system to identify the cause of the problem and carry out the necessary repairs.

Common faults include dishes that have moved out of alignment, damaged or faulty LNBs, deteriorated cabling and connections, and damage caused by weather or age.

Where possible, I’ll repair and realign the existing system. If equipment has deteriorated beyond repair, I can replace the affected parts and set the dish up correctly for reliable reception.

SKY DISHES & MOVING HOME

If you already use Sky satellite TV and are moving home, I can install a suitable satellite dish and cabling at your new property, or check and reuse an existing dish where appropriate.

I can also replace old or damaged Sky dishes, LNBs and cabling, relocate a dish where a better or more discreet position is available, and provide additional or replacement satellite cable runs where required.

I work on existing Sky satellite systems and dish installations, but I don’t supply Sky subscriptions or Sky equipment such as receivers.

SATELLITE DISH REMOVAL

If you have an old Sky or Freesat dish that is no longer in use, I can safely remove the redundant dish, brackets and external cabling where appropriate.

This is particularly useful when changing to a different TV service, moving into a property with unwanted satellite equipment, or simply tidying up the outside of your home.

Where possible, fixings are removed and the installation area left neat and tidy, with any holes left by removed fixings or cabling sealed with silicone to help prevent water ingress.
