OVER 30 YEARS’ INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
Pegasus Aerials, Satellites & Starlink is an independent business based in Ormskirk. I provide TV aerial, satellite, Starlink, Wi-Fi and network installation services across West Lancashire, Merseyside and surrounding areas.
I’m Dave, the owner and installer, and my experience in the aerial and communications industry goes back to the 1980s, when I first worked in the aerial trade with Albany Aerials, Liverpool.
I established Pegasus Aerials in 2016. Over the years, the business has developed from traditional TV aerial and satellite work to include Starlink, Wi-Fi, networking and commercial IRS installations.
A large proportion of my work has always come through recommendations and repeat customers, and I still believe in providing the same personal service: turning up when agreed, explaining what is required and carrying out installations using good-quality materials.
MILITARY COMMUNICATIONS EXPERIENCE
My communications background developed further through my military service, where I initially worked as a radio technician, working with HF and VHF radio communications equipment.
I later retrained as a systems engineer, developing experience with computer networks and communications systems. This eventually expanded into satellite communications.
While mobilised for military operations, part of my role involved installing and maintaining satellite and communications equipment, providing practical experience of satellite systems in demanding operational environments.
That experience has carried directly into the work I do today, particularly with satellite systems, Starlink, Wi-Fi and networking, where understanding signal propagation and communications infrastructure is an important part of getting an installation right.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS & APPROACH
I base my installations on recognised industry standards and CAI Codes of Practice, with an emphasis on correct installation methods, signal performance, reliability and safety.
One of my main technical references is R. A. Calaz’s Home Digital Systems, an industry reference covering terrestrial and satellite television, signal distribution, networking, structured cabling and other communications systems. I have used it extensively as a reference for the way I plan and carry out my work.
Combined with decades of practical experience, this approach means I don’t simply aim to get a system working. I aim to install it properly, neatly and reliably, using quality materials and proven installation methods.
